Neighbors Helping Neighbors

Christmas treeIn the spirit of the season, people are requested to bring donations of canned goods or other non-perishable items to be distributed to local families in need during the holiday season.

As part of their Bronze Award, Girl Scout Troop 42 is collecting baking supplies for the Interfaith Community Outreach of Washington Township Area (ICOWTA) food pantry so the needy in our area can experience the fun of baking together at the holidays. Baking items requested include: flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, brown sugar, powdered sugar, oats, salt, spices, cocoa, icing, sprinkles, oil, vanilla and almond extract, lemon zest, nuts, peanut butter, shortening, jam, baking chocolate, coconut, raisins, dried fruit, chocolate chips, M&M's, food coloring.

Drop off locations for the above items are Re/Max Distinctive Properties in the Long Valley Professional Plaza on East Mill Road, and 18 Schooley's Mountain Road (formerly, Myhelan) in downtown Long Valley.

The Interfaith Community Outreach of Washington Township Area (ICOWTA) will also have a table where residents can sponsor a wreath for $20.00 which goes to help support this vital outreach program in our town.
