Holiday Season
Holiday Happenings is a downtown event timed to coincide with the the Tree Lighting Ceremony. At Holiday Happenings, you'll make flower-ball ornaments and Christmas cookies, play the Dreidel game, listen to carolers, visit with Santa, and a take a horse-drawn carriage ride down Columbia Trail. All festivities are contributed by L.V.V.A. members, with most held indoors in individual stores.
The Gingerbread House contest is an annual event for children, families, and groups. The entries are displayed during Holiday Happenings.
Holiday decorating contest means that Long Valley will be festive for the the season, and merchants can win prizes for the best decorations.
Spring
The Valley Quest is a scavenger hunt where Questers solve riddles that bring them to various businesses and attractions in Long Valley. At the destinations, the Questers must meet challenges to earn points, in the form of gold coins. Challenges are both physical and intellectual. At the end of the event, the teams with the most points receive terrific prizes donated by member merchants of the Long Valley Village Association. Additional points are granted to the teams with the best outfit and team name. A special prize is awarded to the team with the best team photo at the Valley Quest. This event began in 2007 -- we hope to make it an annual tradition.
The spring storefront decorating contest is another opportunity for local merchants to win prizes and spruce up the town.
The Poster contest for the L.V.V.A. Summer Concert Series is open to anyone to enter. The winning poster will be used to promote the summer concert series. It's sure to be a collector's item!
Summer
L.V.V.A. Summer Concert Series at Rock Spring Park will provide live music, under the stars, the fourth Thursday of June, July, and August. Performances are sponsored by various L.V.V.A. members.
Don't miss the Fireworks Festival in early July. Several L.V.V.A. members have booths selling food and drinks prior to the big display.
In late July look for the Long Valley Tent and Sidewalk sale, downtown and town-wide.
Fall Parade and Festival
This popular event is hosted by the Washington Township Community Events Organization (WT-CEO). Visit the vendor booths of L.V.V.A. members.
