Holiday Happenings in Downtown Long Valley... where Every Season is Our Best Season

The Long Valley Village Association's "Holiday Happenings" in downtown Long Valley will be on Sunday, December 3rd. The festivities are part of a day of fun timed to coincide with the 20th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting by The Garden Club of Long Valley at the Zion Lutheran Church.

The LVVA is a group of Long Valley businesses, organizations and professionals working together to promote awareness of local businesses and services.

As part of the day's events, The Long Valley Junior Women's Club and the LVVA are hosting The Second Annual Gingerbread House Contest and Display for children. All local children and families are welcome to enter a gingerbread creation of their own design for display and prizes. Pre-registration is required at www.lvva.org.

Some of the other special events planned for the day include horse-drawn carriage rides, holiday menus and treats at downtown restaurants, ornament making, cookie decorating, the dreidel game, pictures with Santa, caroling and music. The fun will start at 2 p.m. and extend into the evening.

In the spirit of the season, people are requested to bring donations of canned goods or other non-perishable items to be distributed to local families in need during the holiday season.

The Washington Township Downtown Revitalization Committee and the Long Valley Village Association awarded a $500 savings bond to William Kennedy on Saturday, Sept. 30th at the Washington Township Fall Festival.

Mr. Kennedy submitted the winning entry in the Washington Township Slogan Contest - "Every Season is Our Best Season".

Members of the Downtown Revitalization Committee and Long Valley Village Association selected the winning slogan from over 100 inspiring entries. You can check out the other great entries at www.lvva.org/site/pr

Long Valley Village Association Co-sponsors Slogan Contest

LONG VALLEY, NJ - Show your town spirit ... and creativity! Submit your idea for a Long Valley motto and win a $500 savings bond. The Slogan Contest is jointly sponsored by the Long Valley Village Association and the Washington Township Downtown Revitalization Committee. The winner will be announced at the Fall Festival on September 30, 2006.

Entries can be submitted at the Washington Township website (www.wtmorris.org) or on the new and improved, Long Valley Village Association website (www.lvva.org) through September 23rd.
